Profile

May is a Washington State–licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a partner at Murison, where she leads the firm’s nonprofit and tax-exempt organization practice. With over a decade of experience in the field, she is widely recognized for her technical depth and practical judgment in advising charitable organizations.

Her work spans the formation and structuring of private foundations and public charities, nonprofit tax planning, and the design of strategies that allow organizations and donors to maximize tax efficiency while advancing their philanthropic missions.

May has a particular focus on nonprofit organizations in the arts and education sectors. In addition to her role at Murison, May serves as Principal of May Consulting, where she selectively advises a small number of nonprofit clients on highly specialized matters. This focused practice allows her to remain deeply engaged in complex technical work while maintaining rigorous standards of quality and fit.

Beyond her client work, May is committed to community service and regularly provides pro bono support to emerging nonprofit leaders. She is deeply dedicated to advancing the understanding of philanthropy and fostering collaborative efforts that drive long-term impact.

Previously, May served as a Tax-Exempt Organization Manager at Deloitte, advising a diverse portfolio of charitable entities on sophisticated tax, compliance, and financial issues.
